The 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training Course takes place over two weeks. This initial training follows the National Standards for Interpreters in Health Care. If you are a bilingual, you can become a professional interpreter and start earning money.
The course covers all key areas (from interpreter ethics and procedures to cultural brokering and medical basics), and includes extensive practice in interpreting settings to gain greater confidence and facility.
Successful students receive a Certificate of Completion identifying all areas covered, and can start earning immediately by registering with our recommended interpreting agency.

Your professional training team will be led by Mary Stronach, who has conducted interpreter trainings for over 18 years. She is also a consecutive and simultaneous interpreter in Spanish & Italian. You will be contacted by phone as soon as your registration is received to schedule your required language screening(s). As soon as results of the language screening are complete, you will be contacted with the results. Please note, the cost of the language screening is non-refundable.
Once you have passed the language screening(s), you will be officially registered and you will receive an e-mail providing additional details (directions, supplies that you will need, lunch, parking, etc.)
You are required to attend all classes. Should you miss a class, a make-up class may be available for an additional charge.
The total cost for this 40-hour Medical Interpreter Training is $400.00*.
