The following interpreters successfully completed the 60-hour-plus Legal/Court/Immigration Interpreting Course. This 60 + 5 hour Zoom class covers the basics of interpreting in the legal field, highlighting legal consultations, immigration court, criminal, family, bankruptcy, traffic and more. The focus is the court system in the United States. Students receive training on how to interpret in the above settings in telephonic, video and in-person interpreting. Besides procedures, students learn the ethics of legal interpreting, basic terminology for each of the settings and, extensive practice in both consecutive and simultaneous modes.
This program is provided by Highlander Communications, a New York State Department of Labor approved trainer for interpreters.
