60-Hour Extended Basic Medical Interpreter Course

The following interpreters successfully completed the 60-hour Extended Basic Medical Interpreter Training Course. This extended course provided additional opportunities to role-play situations in more settings, including medical and social services, along with more in-depth study of more body systems, and insurance. In completing this portion of the training program, they are qualified to provide interpreter services in the medical and mental health setting, social services and peripheral areas.

This program is provided by Highlander Communications, a New York State Department of Labor approved trainer for interpreters. It is structured around the basic guidelines and strategies as set forth by the National Council for Interpreters in Health Care and is the first step toward the training necessary to help prepare for the CCHI National Interpreter Certification.

40-Hour Basic Medical Interpreter Course
