
Module on Mental Health Interpreting (Reviving the Spirit)
This course module covers a discussion of key mental health issues, how individual cultures may address these issues, terminology including emotions, symptoms, and treatment plans. In addition, there is extensive discussion on how mental health interpreting differs from other medical interpreting settings. Those who complete this training are qualified to begin to provide interpreter services in the mental health setting and peripheral areas.
This course is structured around the guidelines and strategies as set forth by the National Council for Interpreters in Health Care and is designed to provide 4.5 hours toward CCHI National Interpreter Re-Certification.
